ALMA Discussion Forum with a talk by Tony Beasley (ALMA Project Manager)

04:00-08:00 Fri 10 Jun 2005

ATNF Marsfield Lecture Theatre

The Atacama Large Millimetre Array (ALMA) is currently under construction in northern Chile. Once ALMA is operational in 2012 it will offer unprecedented millimetre-observing capabilities for the Southern Hemisphere. The Australia Telescope Compact Array and the Mopra Telescope are pathfinders to ALMA and through key projects they can leverage Australia's involvement in ALMA.

The aim of this forum is to update the community on the current status of ALMA and to spark discussion on the role of ATCA and Mopra in the pre-ALMA era and beyond.

The workshop is open to everyone. If you have a particular item you would like to put up for discussion then please notify Kate Brooks (Kate.Brooks@csiro.au).

Schedule:
14:00 - 14:45 ALMA Overview by Tony Beasley (ALMA Project Manager, Joint ALMA Office, Santiago, Chile)
14:45 - 15:30 ALMA Discussion Forum
