ATNF Radio Astronomy School 2009

18:00 Mon 21 Sep to 08:00 Sat 26 Sep 2009

ATNF Parkes

The Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF) is holding its 2009 Radio Astronomy School at the Parkes Radio Telescope, NSW, Australia from 21st to 25th September. This school aims to provide knowledge and hands-on experience of radio astronomy to people new to the field, including PhD students and post-doctoral researchers.

The format of the school will be similar to previous ATNF schools, with a mix of lectures and practical sessions. Material will be presented by both radio astronomers and engineers. No prior experience with radio astronomy is required. Although the school will have an emphasis on single-dish astronomy, it will cover a diverse range of topics across all areas of radio-astronomy.
