What professional development opportunities are available for teachers?

A project such as PULSE@Parkes requires enthusiastic and committed teachers. As the content and methods of the project are outside the experience of most teachers we provide support and training for teachers interested in having their students take part. An annual PULSE@Parkes teacher workshop is planned that will equip teachers with the necessary background knowledge, pedagogy and skills required to maximise the impact of the project with their students. Information about the first PULSE@Parkes teacher workshop will be available from this page at a later date but should run in the second half of 2008.

Teachers are also encouraged to attend other ATNF Teacher Workshops; Astronomy from the Ground Up!, our annual three-day workshop at the Parkes radio telescope and our one-day Astrophysics for Physics Teachers workshop that is held at Marsfield in Sydney.
