Paul Roberts

Principal Research Engineer/Scientist

I am a research engineer/scientist with CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science, based in Marsfield, New South Wales. My research interests centre on signal processing instrumentation and related techniques for wide-bandwidth signal processing in radio astronomy. Some of my particular interests are MMIC chip design, photonics, high-speed digitisers, and techniques for UHE particle induced pulse detection

My major current focus is on the design of various components and systems for a 188 element Cryogenic Phased Array Feed for the Parkes telescope, an upgrade to the ATCA inteferometer at Narrabri and a 700MHz-4.2GHz Ultra Wideband System for Parkes. I am also involved in a range of novel experiments aiming to detect radio emmision associated wth cosmic ray showers, UHE neutrino detection in the LUNASKA experiment and related fundamental experiments.
