Staff Union (CPSU) matters at Marsfield

CSIRO staff have in the past being represented by a number of Unions and Staff Associations. Prior to about 1990, the scientific staff were represented by the CSIRO Officers Association (OA), the technical staff by the CSIRO Technical Association (TA), and the administrative staff by the Public Service Union (PSU). (At various times there were also other specialist groups represented by other smaller unions.)

At around 1990 the OA and TA amalgamated to form the CSIRO Staff Association (SA). About a year or so later, the SA joined the much larger PSU, to form the CSIRO Division PSU . Through further amalgamations, the PSU has now become the Community and Public Service Union (CPSU), representing about one-quarter million State and Federal Public servants! CSIRO staff are now mainly represented by the CSIRO Division CPSU.

Each CSIRO workplace elects local union delegates annualy. The current delegates at Marsfield, representing staff at both ATNF and RP, are:
