Instructions for submission of papers

 from the

Third Workshop on Compact Steep Spectrum and GHz-Peaked Spectrum Radio Sources

The refereed proceedings of the workshop will be published in Volume 20 of the Publications of the Astronomical Society of Australia (PASA). PASA is an electronic, ISI-listed, fully refereed journal and the NASA Astrophysics Data System directly links to papers in PASA.  PASA is accessible from http://www.publish.csiro.au/journals/pasa/.

PASA is a non-profit, Society-owned journal, and is delighted to be able to sponsor the CSS/GPS workshop by subsidising publication of the workshop proceedings.

It is preferable if you can prepare your paper using the PASA LaTeX template accessible from http://www.atnf.csiro.au/pasa/template, although other LaTeX styles and Word files can be accepted. No strict limits have been set on the length of submitted manuscripts.   However, we suggest the following guidelines: about 8-10 pages of the PASA LaTeX template for invited talks, 6 pages for contributed talks and 4 pages for poster presentations, (including figures and references).

We are aiming for rapid publication of the workshop proceedings. To submit your manuscript, please email a gzipped postscript or pdf file of your paper to the conference editors at gpscss3@atnf.csiro.au.  If your paper is too large to be included as an email attachment, please place the postscript file of your paper on an anonymous ftp site and send instructions on how to extract the paper to the editors at the above address.  Please note that this procedure is different to that given in the usual Instructions to Authors for PASA papers, but we are using electronic submission to aid rapid refereeing and processing of these workshop papers. If you are asked to referee a paper from the workshop, please try to prepare a report as soon as possible, and definitely within three weeks of receiving the manuscript.

Please submit your manuscript as soon as possible and No Later Than June 30,  2002.

Gift Subscription to PASA

Participants of the workshop (including authors not attending) are being offered a one-year gift subscription to electronic PASA for their home institution if it does not already have a subscription (limit one subscription per participant).  If you would like to take advantage of this offer to ensure that your institution has the best access to the published workshop proceedings, please collect a gift subscription order form from the PASA display at the workshop.  Please pass the order form to the appropriate person at your home institution.  When they complete and return the form, the gift subscription will be activated for Volume 20 of PASA.

If you have any problems or queries with your PASA submission or subscription, please contact the PASA Editor, Michelle Storey, at michelle.storey@csiro.au.
