The Water Fountain 15445-5449

A very fascinating stage in the evolutionary path of AGB stars, is their transition to Planetary Nebulae (PN). During the post-AGB phase, the short evolutionary stage between AGBs and PNe, stars expell water in highly collimated jets at very high velocities, hence the name "Water Fountains" (WF). Their motion and properties can be studied through high-resolution VLBI observations of the water masers. I am studying the importance of the magnetic fields in the formation of the jets in WFs. In order to study this, I have started a monitoring of the WF 15445-5449, with the Long Baseline Array (LBA) in 6 epochs.
