Software Engineer - Developers Job Opportunity

Opportunities exist within the Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF) at CSIRO for high performing experienced software engineers able to work effectively on a number of projects in the software development environment.

ATNF is currently building a 10 person team to work on the development of the ASKAP computing capabilities over the next five years. ATNF is collaborating with a South African group on the computing.

Successful applicants will be team players with the ability to work independently as proven in your strong track record of performance against project goals. Key requirements include excellent communication skills, relevant tertiary qualifications with two or more years experience using UNIX based operating systems and a sound understanding of scripting languages (eg python, perl).

A dynamic and demanding environment includes interactions with scientists and engineers from multiple disciplines as well national and international collaborators. Key computing challenges include processing (100Tflop) and storage scale (10TB/hour), data processing complexity, and remote operation.
