Public access to visitors centres

In response to the COVID-19 situation, our Compact Array Visitors Centre at Paul Wild Observatory, the outdoor viewing area and public toilets are currently closed.

The visitor facilities are expected to reopen on Monday 12 July 2021 with physical distancing and other precautions in place.

When the Visitors Centre reopens it will be open 7 days a week from 8.00am to 5.00pm (including public holidays).

To ensure the safety of our staff and visitors, we ask visitors to practice good hygiene and social distancing to reduce the risk of spread of Coronavirus in our community.

In addition, the following measures will be in place:

- Visitors who are feeling unwell or who have any cold- or flu-like symptoms will be asked to stay outside.

- Hand sanitiser will be available.

- Additional daily cleaning of high-touch areas will be conducted.

The Parkes Observatory Visitors Centre continues to operate with physical distancing and other precautions in place.
