Strange star stumps astronomers

An obese oddball of a star has left astronomers scratching their heads as to how it could have formed.

Dr David Champion of CSIRO ATNF and his colleagues from 20 other institutions publish their findings about the star today [16 May 2008] in the online journal Science Express.
