Abstract

Dr. Kasturirangan (an X-ray astronomer) is chairman of the governing council of the Raman Institute, Bangalore, and director of the National Institute for Advanced Studies. In this colloquium, Dr Kasturirangan will talk about India's space science program, and in particular the launching of an Indian satellite dedicated to astronomy in the next few years.

Please note this colloquium will be held at Macquarie University lecture theatre C5C T1. A map with directions can be downloaded from http://www.handbook.mq.edu.au/PDFs/2006/cal-campus-map.pdf. Building C5C is clearly marked at the centre of the map. Campus parking available (ticket required).

Tea/coffee will be offered from 4:40pm in Room 153 Bldg E8C, 3 min walk to the lecture theatre.
