LBA Correlator Checklist ("Pocket Guide")
S2 transports and console:
- Day number and time on S2 recorders is correct (against master clock)
- S2 mode is correct
- Individual tapes are in correct order in each group.
- The first S2 playback contains the tapes for the first station in the schedule file, and so on for each station in the schedule.
- Tape playback times differs from real time by a multiple of 10 seconds
LBACOR:
- Correct schedule loaded (using S2FILE)
- Correct correlator CONFIGuration has been PROGrammed
- Correct integration time and blank pulses set with CYCLE
- For pulsar gating, phase offset (PSRPH) set correctly
- Output data file opened or closed as required (using FO and FC)
- On each "GO", check that the playback time difference in a multiple of 10 seconds
COR_DISP:
- Lag spectrum for each correlator product is ok (free from obvious birdies etc)
TVD:
- Phases, amplitudes and delays for all baselines/correlator products ok
Schedule file in COR$SCHED
- check these settings:
EXPERIMENT <expt-name>
DATE <year> <day number>
FREQ/BW <freq> <bandwidth> [<freq> <bandwidth>]
SOURCE_LIST <expt-name>
ANTENNAS <number antennas> {plus individual antenna information}
CONFIG <correlator configuration>*
BASELINES <number baselines>* {plus individual baseline information}
* If CONFIG used and <correlator configuration>.BSL exists in COR$SCHED, BASELINES is not necessary
- Check that correct STOP, FILE CLOSE, and NEWTAPES commands are commented and/or uncommented as appropriate.
Miscellaneous:
- Source list <expt-name>.TAB exists in COR$DB and has correct positions
- For pulsar gating, <source>_<expt-name>.<station> exists in COR$PULSAR
