Hi all,

Please see the following message from Mars Buttfield-Addison, a PhD Candidate in Computer Engineering at the University of Tasmania. She is running a survey on the adoption of VDIF.

If you use VDIF at your observatory/correlator etc please could you fill in her survey and upload some same data as requested.

Regards
Chris

I am reaching out to you today to see if you would be willing to take part in (or help to promote) a research survey investigating the adoption of the VLBI data format VDIF—who has adopted the format? When? And how has it gone?

If your institution operates one or more VLBI-capable sensors and you have 10-15 minutes to spare to answer a handful of simple questions, check out https://themartianlife.com/vlbi-survey/ for information and a link to participate.

A key objective of this work is to identify where inconsistencies remain between different operators, and to document any internal workarounds that have been developed to address them. This is important work that will ensure the repeatability of analysis being done today, and which may inform the governance of VLBI technical standards and development of new VLBI data formats into the future.

The survey is being run by a PhD Candidate from the University of Tasmania. If you have any questions, she can be reached at m.buttfield-addison_at_email.protected>

Thank you for your time.
