2015/2016 CASS Undergraduate Vacation Scholarship Program: Applications Now Open

Applications are now open for the 2015/2016 CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science Undergraduate Vacation Scholarships.
The 2015/16 Vacation Scholarship Program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to work on real-world problems in a leading R&D organisation.

Participation in the Vacation Scholarship Program has influenced previous scholarship holders in their choice of further study and future career options. Many have gone on to pursue a PhD in CSIRO or to build a successful research career within CSIRO, a university or industry.

Vacation scholarships are intended primarily for students who:

are currently enrolled at an Australian university
have completed three years of a full-time undergraduate course, preferably in science, engineering or computing, however exceptional second year students may be considered.
have a strong academic record (credit average or higher); and
intend to on to honours and/or postgraduate study.
Scholarships are for 10 weeks in the period late November 2015 to February 2016.

CASS is offering up to 14 scholarships for the 2015/2016 program. Each scholar will undertake a research project under the supervision of a CASS staff member. Projects are offered in the areas of astronomy/astrophysics, physics, software engineering, computer science/engineering and electrical engineering.

Applications are now open and must be submitted online.

Applications close Sunday 16 August 2015.
