Greetings,
As previously advised, the "variable length array" and "multidimensional
array" extensions to the FITS binary tables standard have recently been
in their formal review period. After some minor changes, the proposal
in its final form is available at
http://fits.gsfc.nasa.gov/bintable_proposals.html
This now has to be voted on by the regional committees, but first the
chair of the IAU FITS working group, Bill Pence, has asked for a straw
poll to indicate whether anyone might be intending to vote against the
proposal and if so why. The intention is to try to resolve any
potential conflicts and get a unanimous vote.
Could each of you indicate to me by next Tuesday what your voting
intentions are.
Thank you,
Mark Calabretta
