Future Developments

The ATOA pipeline is still under development. As mentioned in the overview it can currently process only single pointing continuum data. We plan to extend this functionality to spectral line data in the near future.

As well as adding functionality we will be extending the user interface so that in addition to running the pipeline in fully automatic mode, you will be able to specify processing parameters before each of the four main stages (Loading, Editing, Calibration and Imaging). These will include things like the editing method used, the image size, and the number of CLEAN iterations.

The pipeline has been designed so that the same underlying functionality can be provided in a number of end user applications. This will include an online pipeline at the telescope, to replace CAONIS in providing on-the-fly imaging. In the longer term, the pipeline will be available as a stand-alone piece of software.

If you have any comment, suggestions or requests for future improvements please contact Tara Murphy. Also, please report any bugs that you encounter while using the pipeline. We are happy to receive as much user feedback as possible - positive or negative!
